The Solar Buddies is unique because it’s the first product with a sponge & rollerball combination (it’s even been patented!) on the market that enables children to apply sunscreen mess free and without fuss. The identity had to appeal to 2 core demographics. Firstly, young children, as they were the ones that were going to be using it on a regular basis, whether that’s on the playground, in the classroom or at the sports club! The 2nd demographic is those with the buying power – the parents! If they can see the benefits of the product in terms of sun safety and awareness, then they’ll be much more likely to purchase it.

Once the final brand identity was signed off, it was then onto the marketing and promotional material that included product packaging, instruction manuals, sales leaflets and merchandise.

In keeping with the fun and friendly theme of the brand, we created instruction manuals that not only featured useful safety safety info for the parents – it also kept the kids engaged with fun doodles and games for them to get involved with.
