Torfaen Business Voice (TBV) has officially launched the TBV Academy, a dedicated mentorship programme designed to support pre-startup individuals, young entrepreneurs, and newly established businesses in bringing their ideas to life and achieving sustainable growth.
The initiative was unveiled at the ‘Intro to Torfaen Business Voice’ networking evening at Pages Restaurant in Cwmbran on Thursday, 30th January.
Gareth Waters, Director of Alliance Agency and a committee member at TBV, played a key role in supporting the launch of the TBV Academy. Speaking about the initiative, he said:
“As a business owner who has benefited from strong mentorship and networking opportunities, I know first-hand how crucial the right support can be in those early stages. The TBV Academy provides a fantastic opportunity for new entrepreneurs to connect with experienced mentors, build their networks, and gain the guidance they need to succeed.”
The TBV Academy offers a structured 12-month programme, providing tailored guidance, networking opportunities, and practical support to help businesses thrive. Academy Members will receive a 12-month paid membership to Torfaen Business Voice (TBV), sponsored by local businesses, ensuring access to vital business support services.
Ashley Harkus, Partner at Everett Tomlin Lloyd & Pratt Solicitors and Chair of Torfaen Business Voice, emphasised the impact of the Academy, stating:

By connecting them with experienced mentors and offering key networking opportunities, we are ensuring that the next generation of businesses in Torfaen have the best possible start.”
TBV Academy provides personalised mentorship through the digital platform ‘Spring Online,’ where members will be matched with experienced business mentors who can offer tailored advice and support. In addition, members will have the opportunity to participate in four networking meetings throughout the year, allowing them to engage with other businesses and industry experts.
Further business support and networking opportunities will be provided through the Torfaen Business Direct Team, further enhancing members’ prospects for growth and success.
The TBV Academy is open to entrepreneurs of all ages, provided their startup has launched within the past 12 months.
